The extensive gated grounds have ample off street parking and boat trailer turning with a good all tide boat ramp, ski lane and deep water mooring for guest use. Fish filleting station for the days catch, beer fridge and bait freezer. Tapeka is the closest launching point to the Bay and renowned fishing location.

"It's all about "Location, Location, Location" and Tapeka del Mar perfectly satisfies all three criteria: almost certainly the ultimate place in New Zealand to watch the sun sink below the horizon as the wine in your glass inexplicably disappears and the kids continue to have the best days of their lives on the safe sandy beach literally at the bottom of the garden. A weekend or week's stay is inadequate - a decade would be preferable. We had an absolute ball and will do our utmost to repeat it when next we can assemble the immediate family under Tapeka del Mar's roof. Especial thanks are due to Clive, the owner, whose personal touch included a lengthy courtesy call to ensure that we'd arrived OK, that all was well and that there were no problems or queries whatsoever: he genuinely cared and that's refreshingly rare.
